A Tired Chef Dachshund isn't just a pet — it's a commitment to a lifetime of love, health, and companionship. We carefully place each puppy with families who are prepared, informed, and dedicated to giving our dogs the life they deserve. Completing this application is the first step.
Why We Require an Application
We invest significant time, resources, and love into every puppy we produce — from genetic testing to Puppy Culture socialization to Early Neurological Stimulation. We want to ensure that investment is honored by placing our puppies in homes where they'll thrive. Our application helps us understand:
- Whether you're prepared for the unique needs of a Dachshund — including IVDD awareness and back-health management
- Your living environment, family situation, and experience with dogs
- Your expectations and what you're looking for so we can match you with the right puppy
- That you're committed to lifelong care, not just the puppy stage
Not every applicant is approved. We reserve the right to decline any application that we feel is not the right fit for our puppies.

This is a critical breed health concern. We expect all owners to understand IVDD management including no jumping from furniture, ramp use, and weight management.
What You're Looking For
Breeding rights are available for an additional fee for approved breeders only.
Commitment & Care
We always want our dogs back if they can't stay in their home. This is a requirement of our contract.
Applications are reviewed within 3-5 business days. We'll reach out by email or phone if you're approved or if we have questions.
